Created to celebrate the wonders of the new state, it touches on the flora and fauna, the amazing diversity and settlement as it was. Shows the major roads, steamship lines and some of the complex terrain of the state's interior. Surrounding vignettes show its history from Bering and the first Russian settlements, to the purchase of "Seward's Folly", the 1897 gold rush, and lastly to President Eisehhower's signing the proclamation of statehood. Bold and colorful, from a notable pictorial maker of the time that was rooted in the entertainment industry.
